For well over an hour, the man in the photo on the left paced back and forth while he shouted and raved about Jesus. Many people in the area certainly heard him, but I don't think anyone was listening. That includes the police officer, despite his proximity to the screamer. Yeah, obnoxiously yelling usually doesn't get you an audience of listeners.

The Wall was the center stage for many of the Cold War’s economic, military, and political tensions between the West and East. The Wall being torn down essentially marked the end of the Cold War. Today, twenty year anniversary celebrations will take place across the world. Of course, the largest and sure to be the most grand will take place in the very location where the Wall once stood. I was in elementary school when the Wall fell. Though I didn’t really fully understand the significance behind the historical moment, I will never forget hearing about it while I sat in Mr. Parkhurst’s 5th Grade classroom. Keep reading →

Streetball, A Scene From New York
Awhile back I wrote about a walk I took around the neighborhood that sent me traveling down memory lane. I found myself traveling down that same lane on a recent visit to New York City while walking along 9th Avenue somewhere around Hell’s Kitchen. What caused me to mentally travel backwards in time during these strolls? Each time it occurred when I saw young people throwing a football around in the street, which caused me to recall the times when my brothers, our friends, and I did just the same. In New York though, instead of temporarily transforming the automobile’s pathway into a football field, the young people chose a bicycle lane. Check out the scene from Manhattan below:
